City Steam Innocence Ale
Name: City Steam Brewery Cafe - Innocence Ale
Style: American IPA
ABV: 7.20%
BeerAdvocate Link: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/556/9858
My Rating (1–5): 4
Tasting Comments: Deep orange-gold color, with a short ivory head that leaves a ton of lacing on the glass. Smells of bright hops with lots of citrus and pine, along with some toasty malt. The taste reveals more resin and pine in the hops, and less of the citrus character. The malt is a nice mix of caramel and biscuit, and it balances the bitterness very well.
Notes: Had this on tap at the City Steam brewpub in Hartford, CT along with an awesome chicken-bacon-mac-and-cheese thing. This is "officially" a regular American IPA, but I'd say it toes the line into DIPA territory. It's very full-bodied and full-flavored, and damn tasty.
