Mendocino Blonde Ale
Name: Mendocino Brewing Company - Blonde Ale
Style: American Blonde Ale
ABV: 5.00%
BeerAdvocate Link: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/200/59023
My Rating (1–5): 2.5
Tasting Comments: Bright, clear golden color and a moderately tall white head. Slightly sweet aroma, with pale malts and some grainy adjunct, alongside grassy and lemony notes. Very similar taste profile, with some grainy pale malt being backed up by grassy and floral hop bitterness and a slightly lemony brightness. A little sweet grain resides on the tongue as an aftertaste.
Notes: A decent blonde ale, but perhaps a bit too noticeably full of grainy adjunct flavors for a craft beer. There's nothing offensive about it, but it doesn't seem to deliver what the label promises: "handcrafted to perfection". That's a pretty tall claim, and the best this beer can actually manage is "solidly average".
